Tune-Up checklists

Gas Furnace:

Change 1” pleated filter or wash electronic air cleaner * Test fire & cycle the furnace * Pull and clean burners & pilot * Inspect & clean blower compartment (blower wheel for additional charge) * Inspect flue * Check for carbon monoxide leaks * Check and adjust gas pressure * Lubricate parts as needed * Test safety shutoff system

Electric Furnace:

Change 1” pleated filter or wash electronic air cleaner * Inspect & clean all controls and wiring * Check supply voltage & amperage draws * Inspect and clean blower compartment (blower wheel for additional charge) * Lubricate parts as needed * Test safety shutoff system

Heat Pump or Air Conditioner:

Change 1” pleated filter or wash electronic air cleaner * Cycle system in heat & cool modes * Check heat strips on indoor unit (emergency backup heating) * Inspect all wiring & electrical components * Check amperage draw * Inspect & clean blower compartment (blower wheel for additional charge) * Inspect and clean indoor & outdoor coils * Flush condensate pump * Check refrigerant charge * Check temperatures * Lubricate parts as needed * Wash outdoor unit
